The Dolabella auricularia, or Sea Hare, is a gentle, algae-grazing sea slug famous for its unusual, rounded body and curious rabbit-like shape. This peaceful invertebrate is a powerhouse against nuisance algae, especially hair algae, and can make a dramatic difference in reef tanks struggling with excess growth.
Its mottled brown-green coloration helps it blend naturally into live rock, while its constant grazing keeps the aquarium clean and balanced. Despite its size and effectiveness, it’s completely reef safe and won’t harm corals or other tank inhabitants.
