The Blue Banded Coral Shrimp is a striking and rare cleaner shrimp species known for its vivid electric-blue body and contrasting white bands. Unlike its more common red-and-white cousin (Stenopus hispidus), Stenopus tenuirostris brings a cooler, more exotic touch to the reef aquarium.

This shrimp is both ornamental and functional—it helps keep tank mates clean by picking parasites and dead tissue from fish that visit its “cleaning station.” Typically found under rock ledges or in shaded areas, it’s best kept singly or as a mated pair, since individuals may fight over territory.
