Ricordea yuma is a colorful species of mushroom coral from the Indo-Pacific region, particularly Indonesia and the Philippines. It’s famous for its vivid colors and soft, bubble-like surface texture that gives the coral a glowing, almost jewel-like appearance under reef lighting. Color variations range from neon green, orange, and blue to rare multicolor morphs.

Ricordea yuma is generally hardy, but it appreciates stability and doesn’t enjoy sudden changes in light, temperature, or flow. It can be slightly more sensitive than its Caribbean cousin (Ricordea florida), especially when newly introduced.

Lighting: Moderate to strong LED or T5 lighting. Avoid placing directly under intense light when acclimating.
Flow: Low to moderate, gentle indirect circulation to keep detritus off the surface.

Placement: Attach to live rock or frag plug in a low-flow area, often near the bottom or middle of the tank.
Feeding: Benefits from occasional target feeding of micro-plankton or coral food but will also photosynthesize efficiently under good light.
