• Primary: Biofilm, film/turf algae, diatoms.

• Daily supplements: Nori on a clip, spirulina/algae pellets and flakes; occasional mysis or roe for variety.

• Goal: Rounded belly and steady grazing to prevent nipping.

Compatibility

• Avoid: Other Salarias and similar blennies in small tanks; aggressive tankmates.

• Good with: Peaceful community fish that ignore it.

• Clams/corals: Monitor; underfed individuals may nip.

Care and selection

• Acclimation: 30–45 min drip. Offer nori immediately if algae is scarce.

• Condition: Do not buy with a pinched belly. Confirm active grazing.

• Note: Individual behavior varies; well-fed specimens are typically coral- and clam-safe.
