Blue Starfish (Linckia laevigata) is one of the most striking starfish species, known for its vivid blue color and smooth arms. Growing up to 30 cm, it is peaceful and completely reef-safe, making it a popular choice for display tanks. It requires a mature aquarium with plenty of live rock, algae, and biofilm to graze on, as they do not usually accept direct feeding. Care must be taken with acclimation, as this species is sensitive to changes in water quality and salinity.

Difficulty: Moderate – best kept in large, stable reef aquariums by aquarists with some experience.
