The Sexy Shrimp (Thor amboinensis) is a small, colorful and highly entertaining reef shrimp known for its characteristic “dancing” tail movement. Its translucent body with white spots and contrasting tail coloration makes it a beautiful addition to nano and reef aquariums.
Despite its small size, it brings constant activity and personality to the tank.
Very peaceful and best kept in groups.
Thrives when kept in small colonies of 3 or more individuals.
Often hosts in:
• Anemones
• Ricordea
• Zoanthids
• Large-polyp corals
Their rhythmic tail movement is normal behavior and gives them their common name.
Omnivorous and opportunistic feeder.
Feed:
• Fine frozen foods (mysis, artemia)
• Small marine pellets
• Micro foods for nano species
Will also scavenge leftover food in the aquarium.
• Ideal for nano and small reef systems
• Requires stable water parameters
• Provide corals or rock crevices for shelter
• Avoid housing with large predatory fish
