Daily feed: Nori/seaweed sheets, spirulina pellets, herbivore flakes; add occasional mysis/roe for variety.
Goal: Keep well fed to minimize coral nipping.
Community: Good with most peaceful to semi-assertive species.
Conspecifics: One per tank unless a proven pair in a very large system.
Corals/inverts: Usually safe; monitor with fleshy LPS, zoas, and clams.
Acclimate: 30–45 min drip; dim lights.
Handling: Use a container, not a net. Spines snag and can envenomate.
Health: Hardy; provide varied greens to prevent nutritional issues.
If stung, immerse the area in tolerably hot water for 30–90 minutes and seek medical advice.
Clear eyes, steady breathing, active grazing.
Eats nori and pellets at the store.
No fin erosion or pinched belly.
