Goniopora sp. – Flowerpot Coral
Goniopora corals are known for their long, flower-like polyps, which is why they are often called Flowerpot Corals. Individual polyps can extend several centimeters long and together form a softly moving, flower-like coral colony. The polyps move gracefully in the current, bringing spectacular natural movement to a reef aquarium.
Goniopora corals occur in various color forms. Typical shades include green, red, pink, purple, yellow, and turquoise, as well as various multi-colored combinations. In blue aquarium lighting, many color forms fluoresce strongly.
