TUNZE DOC Skimmer 9410

The TUNZE DOC Skimmer 9410 is an efficient and quiet protein skimmer for medium to large marine aquariums. It removes organic waste from the water before it breaks down into nitrates and phosphates, helping to maintain stable water quality and control the bioload.

The model is suitable for aquariums up to approximately 300–1,300 liters, depending on the nutrient load and livestock. For aquariums with a focus on soft corals, the capacity is highest, while for SPS corals, it is advisable to allow more room for bioload when sizing the skimmer.

The DOC Skimmer 9410 uses a magnetically-suspended pump, which reduces vibration, friction, and operating noise. The pump has no traditional shaft, eliminating a common wear point and improving operational reliability over long-term use.

The skimmer is manufactured in Germany at TUNZE's own production facility in Penzberg. The design is engineered for easy maintenance: the pump is permanently located outside the housing but remains compactly integrated and easily removable without tools.

Usage and Installation

The DOC Skimmer 9410 is installed in the technical basin, i.e., the sump. The skimmer requires a minimum base area of 26 × 26 cm and the water level must be 14–21 cm.

For maintenance, a total height of at least 50 cm is recommended so that the skimmer cup can be easily removed.

The skimmer is delivered ready for use with the necessary accessories. It includes a pump powered by a 12 V SELV power supply and a Turbelle Controller 7020.
