Aquaforest AF Air Scrubber is a CO2 filter that connects to the protein skimmer's air intake. It helps to increase the aquarium pH by reducing the carbon dioxide in the air entering the skimmer. The filter is especially suitable for situations where high CO2 levels in the room air are pushing the pH down.

CO2-absorbing filter media is purchased separately.

Use and maintenance

• Connect the filter to the skimmer's air intake with 10 mm tubing.
• Moisten the base sponges with RO water. They moisten the incoming air and support the performance of the media.
• Keep the base sponges moist and check them between media changes as well.
• Replace the CO2 media before a complete color change.

The used media may change color back later, but this does not mean that its performance has been restored. Wear gloves when changing the media and work in a well-ventilated area.

Technical specifications

Monitor the pH at the same time of day so that the results are comparable. The filter does not replace the measurement or maintenance dosing of KH.
