Aquaforest Reef Salt is a synthetic sea salt for reef aquariums housing soft corals as well as LPS and SPS corals. The salt contains the macro and trace elements necessary for preparing seawater.

Preparing seawater

• Use pure RO/DI water and a clean mixing container.
• Heat the water to approximately 24 °C. Add the salt to the water according to the mixing instructions on the package.
• Stir vigorously for about 15 minutes and continue as needed until the salt has dissolved and the water is clear.
• Check the salinity with a calibrated meter and adjust the temperature and salinity to match the aquarium before the water change.

The Ca, Mg, and KH values of the prepared water depend on the salinity. Check the batch information on the package and measure the values of the new water if necessary.

Storage

Store the salt in a dry place, protected from light. According to the manufacturer's instructions, dissolved Reef Salt should be used within 3 days.
