Maxspect Jump MJ-L130R Refugium is a 30-watt LED light for growing macroalgae in a refugium. Combining red, blue, and white LEDs, the light is suitable for, for example, illuminating Chaetomorpha algae in a sump's algae compartment.

Lighting for refugium needs

Three preset spectrum settings make it easy to choose the lighting. The controller on the cable allows you to select a 6, 10, or 12-hour lighting cycle. Refugium lighting supports macroalgae growth; nutrients are removed from the system as the grown algae are harvested.

The aluminum frame’s passive cooling works without a fan. The low-profile design makes it easy to place inside a cabinet, provided there is sufficient space and ventilation for the light.

In addition to light, algae growth is affected by nutrient availability and water flow. Adjust the lighting cycle according to the growth in the refugium and the nutrient levels in the aquarium.
