Maxspect Nano-Tech Phosphree is a polymer resin-based phosphate removal media for reef aquariums. It is an alternative to metal-based phosphate removers when you want to reduce phosphate levels in a controlled manner.

For controlled phosphate reduction

According to the manufacturer, Phosphree is designed to bind phosphate more slowly than many metal-based media. The goal is a gentler change in the water's phosphate level. The actual effect depends on, among other things, the amount used, the initial concentration, and water flow.

Usage and monitoring

Follow the instructions on the packaging and measure phosphate levels during use. Replace the media when its binding capacity has decreased. Do not determine the amount solely based on the aquarium's volume; also take the measured phosphate concentration into account.

The manufacturer specifies a capacity for the 500 ml package equivalent to 3 mg/l of phosphate in 2,000 liters of water. This is a capacity specification, not a recommendation to reduce the aquarium's phosphate by this much at once.
