Pulsing Xenia is a fast-growing soft coral known for its unique, rhythmic pulsing movement, where each polyp opens and closes continuously. This constant motion adds life and a very natural feel to the aquarium, making it especially popular in lagoon-style and “wild reef” aquascapes.

It is hardy, adaptable, and tolerant of a wide range of conditions. Pulsing Xenia grows best under moderate lighting and gentle to moderate water flow, and it often thrives in systems with slightly elevated nutrients.

⚠️ Important placement note:

If placed on the main rock structure, Pulsing Xenia can quickly overtake the aquascape. It spreads aggressively and regularly releases small tissue fragments that can attach elsewhere in the tank, forming new colonies. For this reason, it is often recommended to place it on an isolated rock or island if growth control is desired.

This natural spreading behavior also makes it an excellent choice for aquariums aiming for a more organic, overgrown reef look, where controlled coral dominance is not a concern.
