Aquaforest AF Bio Sand is a white substrate for saltwater aquariums. The sand is prepared before use with the included nitrifying bacteria and their nutrients. It is suitable for setting up a new aquarium and for topping up an existing sand bed.

Preparation

• Rinse the sand with RODI water to remove dust.
• Mix the contents of both included bottles with 3 liters of saltwater.
• Add the mixture to the sand and let it sit for 24 hours. Leave the bag open.
• The manufacturer recommends a preparation temperature of 25–28 °C.
• Add the prepared sand to the aquarium. When adding to an established aquarium, add in small amounts gradually and monitor water parameters.

Additional information

Preparing the sand alone does not indicate that a new aquarium is ready for livestock. Ensure the biological filtration is functioning by testing the water parameters.
