Arrow crabs/Spider crabs are useful and beautiful animals that are often part of the permanent clean-up crew of the marine aquarium. The Yellow Arrow Crab mainly eats food scraps, but it can also eat sick fish and shrimp.
Crabs, like lobsters and shrimps, only have an external skeleton that becomes too small as they grow. Once every few days they crawl out of this skeleton and hide until the new skeleton has hardened. During this time the animal is very vulnerable and will hide.
This species lives mainly at night and needs a lot of shelter, it is best kept solitary.
