Chrysiptera springeri is a small, vibrant blue damselfish that moves actively around rocks and corals. It is considered one of the more peaceful damselfish, though it still defends its territory, especially against its own kind.
The aquarium should have plenty of rock crevices and separate hiding places. For a small tank, starting with a single individual is the safest option.
Aquarium recommendation: approximately 120 liters or more for one individual. Multiple individuals require more space and separate territories.
Temperature: 24–27 °C
Feeding: A varied diet of small frozen foods, such as brine shrimp and mysis, as well as marine fish pellets or flakes. Include plant-based food in its diet as well.
Compatibility: Suitable for many reef fish. May harass shy fish and other damselfish, especially in a cramped aquarium.
Reef safe: Yes. Suitable for keeping with corals and common reef aquarium invertebrates.
