The EcoTech Marine VorTech MP40 QuietDrive is a circulation pump designed to create flow in medium to large reef aquariums. The broad flow moves water across a wide area, and versatile programs allow you to create varied flow conditions for your corals.

Motor and wires outside the aquarium

The VorTech motor is located outside the glass and drives the underwater wet side via a magnetic coupling. No power cords enter the tank, and the motor's heat stays primarily outside the water. The wet side detaches from the motor for cleaning.

Flow according to the aquarium's needs

• Reef Crest: rapidly and irregularly changing flow to simulate reef conditions.
• Lagoon: a calmer, varying flow.
• Short Pulse: short flow pulses to create wave motion.
• Nutrient Transport: wave motion and stronger flow cycles help lift detritus toward filtration.
• Gyre and Tidal Swell: varying flows for multi-pump setups. Changing the circulation direction requires multiple pumps.

With the Mobius app, you can adjust the pump's power and daily schedule, as well as synchronize the operation of compatible pumps. Feed mode reduces flow during feeding.

Choose the number and placement of pumps according to the tank's dimensions, rock structure, and the flow requirements of your corals. Check the glass thickness before ordering and ensure there is space for the motor outside the glass. The separately sold EcoTech Battery Backup allows flow to continue during a power outage.
