Motor and wires outside the aquarium

The VorTech motor is located outside the glass and drives the underwater wet side via a magnetic coupling. No power cords enter the tank, and the motor's heat remains primarily outside the water. The wet side detaches from the motor for cleaning.

Flow according to the aquarium's needs

• Reef Crest: rapidly and irregularly changing flow to mimic reef conditions.
• Lagoon: a calmer, varying flow.
• Short Pulse: short flow pulses to create wave motion.
• Nutrient Transport: wave motion and stronger flow cycles help lift detritus toward filtration.
• Gyre and Tidal Swell: varying flows for multi-pump setups. Changing the direction of circulation requires multiple pumps.

With the Mobius app, you can adjust the pump's power and daily schedule, as well as synchronize the operation of compatible pumps. Feed mode reduces flow during feeding.

Select the number and placement of pumps based on tank dimensions, rockwork, and coral flow requirements. Check the glass thickness before ordering and ensure there is space for the motor outside the glass. The separately sold EcoTech Battery Backup allows flow to continue during power outages.
