Maxspect Nano-Tech Anaerobic Block Catalyst is a replacement catalyst for the Anaerobic Block filtration system. It is placed between two blocks to support the activity of nitrate-reducing bacteria.

Replacement and durability

The catalyst wears out during use. Maxspect's recommendation for replacement is approximately every two months, meaning a five-piece pack will last for one pair of blocks for about ten months at this replacement interval.

Place the catalyst into the groove between the blocks while preserving as much of the blocks' active bacterial colony as possible. Monitor nitrate levels as part of regular aquarium maintenance.

The product contains the replacement catalysts. The ceramic Anaerobic Blocks are purchased separately.
